For those who would like to know, YES, Ireland looks just like what you would imagine! Sheep and castles dot rolling green hills as far as the eye can see. Live music and pubs are in every town and the folks in them are the nicest, most genuine people. Words cannot adequately express how we truly feel about all that we saw and experienced while in Ireland. It was the trip of a lifetime!!! In fact, we have tears in our eyes thinking about just the shear blessing that it was. Grace, Paul, and the rest of their family were so warm and welcoming that it’s easy to see where the Irish get their hospitable reputation. After spending almost a week on and off with them, we feel like we have another family across the “pond”. You are ALL missed and loved!!!
The wedding festivities were to take place in County Kerry which is in the southwest region of the island and it is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! We woke up to the most beautiful sunny day that we could have hoped for! The day began with Dustin heading up to Fitzgerald Woodlands House Hotel in Adare. Paul chose to get ready there because it had been a frequent vacation spot for his family growing up. Meanwhile, Kristin was with Grace in her hometown of Duagh as she got ready for the day. The ceremony was held in the Catholic chapel just down the road from where Grace had grown up. It was a lovely joy-filled occasion.
We then headed down towards the reception and on our way stopped into the Killarney National Park. (This park is so large and so stunning that we got lost driving in it the next day, but we didn’t even care because of how gorgeous it is!) Inside the park is the Muckross House, a 19th century Victorian mansion and the location for our bridal portraits. When we visited it a few days before, Dustin said to Kristin “Can we please please please shoot here!” It was unreal! Visitors clapped and cheered for the newlyweds as we walked up to the house and politely moved out of the way for our photos…except for a few girls who were awestruck by the “princess”.
And the reception? Well you will just have to wait until Part II to hear about how the Irish party…and (trust us) they do!
No trip to Ireland would be complete without a little music! So, please, before you scroll down, click the “play” button below and ENJOY the music with the photos
Grace and Paul, Thank you! A million “thank you”s wouldn’t be enough. You took a chance on us and made our dreams of a trip to the Land of Eire come true! We are forever grateful for God’s blessing to us through you! It is our prayer that these photos (and the MANY more you will see) will only continue to bless and serve your family! We hope to see you all again someday…hopefully soon! We want to hug you both (and Buddy)! Maybe in a year…*fingers crossed*
Love and kisses,
Kristin and Dustin
Grace bought Paul a Golden Retriever puppy as a wedding present. To say “he was excited” would be an understatement!!!
The Irish have a tradition of taking a group photo of everyone who attended the wedding. We think that’s pretty awesome! Especially when it requires Dustin to climb up on top of a very high column.
Coming soon: Part II – The Reception!!!!
