Smetona Photo is the husband + wife photography team inspired by all things beautiful. We are based out of Southern California but travel worldwide for weddings and engagements. Our style is a combination of fine art and photojournalism. We specialize in intimate weddings held in casas, villas, and private estates.

Kristin

I am blessed with an amazing husband. I have (what Dustin thinks to be) an unhealthy obsession with turquoise. I could eat Mandarin Chicken from Panda Express and drink Jamba Juice everyday and all day. Everyday I must battle my huge, wavy hair into submission. I love chatting with brides about their wedding days, especially with brides on a budget because I know what it feels like.

Raised in Kansas City, I have been in photography for six years and have photographed over 30 weddings. I graduated from California Baptist University  (2010) with a B.A. Magna Cum Laude in Journalism, but we use that really loosely because I ended up taking more photography classes then journalism courses. Now,I have officially moved to Southern Califonia, I (and Dustin) are beginning to rebuild the photography business I had in Kansas City (Kristin Joy Photography).

Dustin

I like startling Kristin. I have an addiction to black coffee. I enjoy playing guitar and piano, serving at our church and singing in falsetto. I like eating garlic mashed potatoes, good steak, and a good pint of ale with a pipe.

I graduated from California Baptist University with a B.A. Cum Laude in Christian Studies. I grew up with a grandfather whose face was always partially hidden by a camera. I love being able to photograph with my wife and especially enjoy taking pictures of her rear end.
